Honstudios is a small business with big ideas and quality products and services. When they recently purchased the Aloha Diner's Club owner Mark Pokraka asked APC President David Muldoon to help him set up a communications system that would meet the call volume increase generated by the recent purchase of Aloha Diner's Club.
President Muldoon visited the offices of Honstudios and found a virtual mess of wires running all over the floor, and hanging out of the walls. Lines were here, there and every where with none of them able to transfer, intercom, conference, rotary, or answer from anyone else's line. Speaking laughingly, Mr. Muldoon said, Mark's situation was critical and he had some very important deadlines that needed to be prepared for, especially since the new ADC books were due from the printers in just a couple of days. Call volumes were expected to triple and they only had a single B1 line for each company.
APC was able to take a new Partner ACS system out of inventory and install it at Honstudios to give them the ability to have six incoming lines setup in two rotary groups to meet the demands of the callers looking not only for Aloha Diner's Club discount books, but too, looking for Honstudios to build websites for their growing businesses. Over the weekend, at normal labor rates, APC rewired the interior offices of the company, installing cable raceways to get cable off the floor and out of site, reworked all the lines from Verizon into an orderly fashion, and installed a Voice Mail/Automated Attendant system to help handle calls during and after business hours.
Now, Honstudios and Aloha Diner's Club are handling calls professionally and courteously, meanwhile, their sales have increased significantly necessitating additional printings of the 2005 ADC discount books.
We were glad to be able to solve their immediate problems handling call volumes, now all we have to do is sit down with them (if we can coral them at one time) to make sure everyone is trained properly to use the system, Muldoon said. This is such a common scenario for small businesses that are under staffed and over worked. We try to help them figure out how to best address call handling so that they can also get some work done. As an Entrepreneur, I understand how crazy it can get, so we work hard to make sure our clients are getting the very best service we can provide them.
